Wondering how to use CAC card reader on Mac and don’t want to buy a PC instead?
I had the same question prior to starting my career in Army, Although buying a PC would solve my problem and what if i want to fix that with Mac.
So without getting further due let’s get started,
Things you need to get started is:
- Compatible CAC card reader ( recommended by MilitaryCAC.com )
- CAC card
- Macbook
- Active certificates.
Assuming that you have already bought the compatible CAC Card reader the first step would be connecting CAC card reader with CAC card inserted to your MacBook. This will enable certificates from your CAC Card
Install the All drivers from the CD/Manufacturers Website
Now that is done, let us verify if CAC Card Reader is connected and enabled with your Mac, To do this simply head over to >About This Mac >More Info > System Report > Hardware > USB > USB Bus > SCRx31 USB Smart Card Reader
