How to use CAC on Mac OS M1 Apple Silicon / Intel

The CAC-based website now can be accessed on Chrome (preferred) with full functionality.

In the previous post, the steps were explained on how to set up certificates and trust settings, It is highly recommended to visit the previous post before moving further.

Please have the card inserted into the CAC reader and is connected to the system

Open Chrome in incognito mode Command-Shift-N (⌘ + ⇧+ n)

It's imperative to access all the content in incognito mode since Google's primary services /extensions cant interfere with your session

For accessing email :

The first step is always to get your unique mail URL by visiting https://web.mail.mil; once validated with DOD ID — 50 certificate (DOD Email certificate is obsolete )with your PIN; copy your unique mail URL, you can always bookmark it, add to favorites, or copy it somewhere safe.

Congratulations you got yourself your own military email URL and it can be used to access military email

For Accessing other military content

As stated in the previous example, please open Incognito Window in Chrome and type the URL/Address.

Content not available

Any content which has a S/MIME header cant be accessed on mac OS for example encrypted email.
